Zakariya Al-Razi

In the tapestry of time, there emerged a luminary whose brilliance transcended epochs – Abū Bakr al-Rāzī, a Persian polymath who wove the threads of healing, philosophy, and alchemy during the resplendent Golden Age.

Born amidst the celestial dance of stars around the year 864 or 865 CE, al-Rāzī’s existence unfolded like a mystical treatise. A virtuoso of healing arts, his legacy is etched in the annals of medicine as one of its most illustrious chapters.

With the pen of compassion, al-Rāzī inscribed manuscripts that pulsated with the essence of empathy. His healing touch not only mended the physical, but also mended the soul, as he walked the sacred path of a physician-philosopher.

Under the cosmic canopy, al-Rāzī’s intellect radiated like a celestial body, embracing disciplines beyond the realms of medicine. His quill danced on the parchment, rendering treatises on logic, astronomy, and grammar, painting the cosmos with the hues of his profound wisdom.

Yet, beyond the scholarly contours, al-Rāzī dared to tread where few ventured – the corridors of critique. With the courage of a cosmic rebel, he questioned the foundations of religion, challenging the very concepts of prophethood and revelation. In the echo of his dissent, he became a celestial bard, singing verses of intellectual freedom.

As the sands of time flowed through his fingers, al-Rāzī’s contributions echoed across ages. He was not merely a physician; he was a maestro orchestrating the symphony of knowledge. His teachings resonated in the hallowed halls of academia, where his name became synonymous with enlightenment.

In the garden of history, al-Rāzī stands as a rare blossom, an alchemist of thought, distilling the elixir of wisdom from the crucible of diverse disciplines. His legacy, a fragrance that lingers in the corridors of time, continues to inspire seekers of knowledge and champions of intellectual liberty.

Abū Bakr al-Rāzī, the alchemist of ideas, whose brilliance illuminated the darkest corners of ignorance, remains a celestial guide for those who dare to question, to explore, and to soar beyond the limitations of conventional thought. In the mosaic of human history, his name is eternally inscribed as a testament to the boundless potential of the human mind.

I’m a Japanese illustrator.
My country, Japan, is a polytheistic country. Our ancestors created a uniquely Japanese religious perspective by fusing indigenous gods and Buddhist teachings from the continent.
The Japanese also believe that God resides in everything. Monotheistic people may not understand this, but this is an ethnic group that believes that gods reside not only in people and animals, but also in plants in the fields and stones on the roadside. Furthermore, in modern times, there are many people who believe that gods reside in cars and PCs, and begin the new year by preparing to welcome their respective gods.
Fairies are not the only creatures born from a single flower; in Japan, it is no exaggeration to say that they are gods or messengers of gods.
My illustration for Zakaria Raji also contains my hope that I, a Japanese person, can foster friendships with people from Muslim countries.
