Hitoshi Miura

I’m a Japanese illustrator.
My country, Japan, is a polytheistic country. Our ancestors created a uniquely Japanese religious perspective by fusing indigenous gods and Buddhist teachings from the continent.
The Japanese also believe that God resides in everything. Monotheistic people may not understand this, but this is an ethnic group that believes that gods reside not only in people and animals, but also in plants in the fields and stones on the roadside. Furthermore, in modern times, there are many people who believe that gods reside in cars and PCs, and begin the new year by preparing to welcome their respective gods.
Fairies are not the only creatures born from a single flower; in Japan, it is no exaggeration to say that they are gods or messengers of gods.
My illustration for Zakaria Raji also contains my hope that I, a Japanese person, can foster friendships with people from Muslim countries.

Arek Marcinkowski

In the cradle of Poland’s embrace, I, Arkadiusz Marcinkowski, took my first breath in the year 1970. A journey etched with strokes of artistic destiny unfolded as I graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Szczecin in 1989, a symphony of creativity resonating in the halls of my alma mater.

The call of artistic enlightenment beckoned, leading me to the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1991. There, amidst the hallowed halls of inspiration, I began my poetic dalliance with the canvas, weaving dreams with the pigments of passion.

Venturing beyond borders, the Netherlands cradled my artistic aspirations in the years 1995-1996, where the tulip fields whispered tales of artistic metamorphosis. In 1996, the culmination of my artistic pilgrimage manifested in the form of a master’s degree from the University of Arts in Poznań, a testament to my unwavering commitment to the craft.

The canvas of my life splashed with vibrant hues as I orchestrated several hundred exhibitions, each stroke an ode to the world of graphics and easel painting. The echo of my artistic narrative resonated beyond Polish shores, reaching the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan. A perennial sojourner, I traversed the artistic landscape of Osaka, Tokyo, Kobe, Kyoto, and more, leaving traces of my soul in prestigious galleries.

A harmonious chord struck in Osaka, where I found a creative home within the Japanese art organization A-21. In 2011, the crescendo of my academic achievements echoed as I earned my habilitation degree from the University of Arts in Poznań, a laurel that adorned my artistic journey.

The tapestry of my career unfolded with diverse roles – a dean at the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, a maestro conducting the symphony of artistic academy. The European Parliament in Brussels bore witness to my artistry, a canvas that transcended borders and resonated with the collective spirit.

The pinnacle of recognition graced me in 2020, crowned with the title of full professor bestowed by the President of the Republic of Poland. I, the storyteller of emotions, embarked on a pilgrimage to the venerable halls of the University of Cambridge in 2023, seeking new realms of artistic inspiration.

An ambassador of creativity, I found solace in the role of a member and advisor to the China-Korea Idea Design Association, a bridge connecting cultures through the language of art. The realms of artificial intelligence became my poetic ink, penning articles and delivering lectures at prestigious institutions worldwide.

I danced with digital graphics, waltzed with artificial intelligence, painted landscapes of video art, and sculpted the contours of graphic design. My artistic endeavors transcended the canvas, delving into spatial activities that echoed the whispers of the soul.

From the heart of Europe to the Far East, from the cultural mosaic of the Middle East to the vast landscapes of the Americas, I graced collective exhibitions in myriad countries. The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Turkey, and a multitude of nations became the backdrop to my artistic sojourn, an ever-expanding tapestry of creativity.

In the realm of pixels and pigments, I, Arkadiusz Marcinkowski, remain a poet of the visual, a storyteller of emotions, painting the world with the brush of boundless imagination.
